Tlokweng, South-East District
Tlokweng, often regarded as a suburb of Gaborone, is a peri-urban village immediately neighboring the capital city and located ca. 15 kilometers west of the Botswana/ South Africa border post. Tlokweng has experienced rapid development over the past few years and continues to grow due to demand for affordable accommodation in close proximity to Gaborone. The area offers mostly single-family residential and multi-residential accommodation, however also has large shopping centres (such as Border Gate Mall), schools/ educational facilities (such as Boitekanelo College), large industrial concerns and commercial businesses (such as the Senn Foods headquarters), hotels/ lodges and is popular with motor vehicle dealerships taking advantage of good visibility from the main Tlokweng-Zeerust highway which connects Botswana with South Africa. Residents of the area also benefit from close proximity of one of Gaborone's largest shopping malls (Riverwalk Mall) and Fairgrounds, one of Gaborone's most established financial/ business centres.
