Palapye, Central District
Palapye is a rapidly developing village located in the Central District of Botswana, situated along the A1 highway ca. 270km north of Gaborone. Due to its central location from the two major cities in Botswana (Gaborone and Francistown), it makes it a convenient stop over for rail and road routes and further benefits from a high level of passing trade travelling to other towns/ villages in the northern parts of the country. The village, widely considered a town also benefits from good infrastructure, extensive developments and is home to institutions such as the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), Morupule Colliery, primary and secondary schools, banking services, postal services, large shopping malls such as Foodlovers Mall offering a variety of local and international retailers and restaurants, hotels and lodges and commercial and industrial business centres, serving an extensive variety of residential properties and large-scale residential developments such as BHC's Palapye- Tenant Purchase Schemes (TPS).
