Mokatse, Modipane, Kgatleng District
Mokatse is a village in the Kgatleng District, located ca. 25 kilometres east of the capital city Gaborone and ca. 19 kilometers from the Tlokweng Border Post (Botswana/ South Africa) bordering Modipane village. With a population of ca. 4,321 (as stated in the 2011 population census), Mokatse has benefited from significant development over the past few years due to its relatively easy commutable distance from the capital city, Gaborone, and its relatively affordable residential accommodation. The village, due to its immediate proximity to Modipane village, shares local amenities such as schools (Modipane Primary School) and shopping complexes/ supermarkets offering butchery services, bakery and a grocery store such as Saverite. Mokatse further comprises of a diverse range of residential properties and small to medium scale farming lands. The village is also within easy commutable distance of the Oodi College of Applied Arts Technology and Oodi Clinic (ca. 10 kilometres commute), as well as major shopping, business centres and schools in Tlokweng, Gaborone (Riverwalk Mall is ca. 22km commute) and Phakalane (Acacia Mall is ca. 18km commute).
