Mmadinare, Central District

Mmadinare is a village located in the Central District, ca. 15km from Selebi Phikwe, with a population of ca. 15,000 inhabitants (per the 2011 census). The future of the village has been buoyed by the SPEDU programme, which aims to diversify the economy through the creation of a Special Economic Zone (which includes Mmadinare) to support industrialization through tourism, manufacturing and agro-business.  With the renowned Letsibogo Dam situated in immediate proximity of Mmadinare, the village presents great opportunities related to dam and/ or water-based tourism activities.  The village offers primary and secondary schools, health facilities such as Mmadinare Primary Hospital, a police station, fuel station and local government offices.
