Jwaneng, Southern District
Jwaneng is a diamond-mining town located in the Southern District of Botswana, easily accessible via the A2 highway, just ca. 165km drive from the capital city, Gaborone. Jwaneng is regarded as one of the richest towns/ villages in Botswana, has a population of ca. 18,000 (2011 census) and is home to Debswana Jwaneng Mine, regarded as the richest diamond mine in the world by value. The town offers a diverse of accommodation and amenities which include residential homes ranging from low to high cost properties, educational facilities such as Acacia Primary School, Jwana Primary School, Kgosimpe Secondary School and Jwaneng Technical College and health facilities such as Debswana Jwaneng Mine Hospital, shopping centres, banking services, leisure/ recreational facilities such as Jwaneng Golf Club, a private game park and religious centres.
