Ghanzi, Ghanzi District

Ghanzi is a town located in the Ghanzi District of Botswana, easily accessible via the A2 highway from the South (Lobatse/ Gaborone) and the A3 highway from the North (Maun).  Ghanzi is renowned for cattle farming, contributing significantly to Botswana's beef industry, including most of the Botswana Meat Commission's beef exports. The town is the administrative centre for the district and offers a diverse range of amenities including an airport, a range of hotels/ lodges, local and international retailers, financial services, restaurants and fast-food outlets, filling stations, public and private schools, health facilities and religious facilities.  Private game reserves/ ranches, as well as unique tourist experiences with the area's indigenous San bushmen, can be enjoyed not far from the town, also regarded as the gateway to the Kalahari as it is positioned not far from the Namibia/ Maun/ Gaborone fork on the Trans-Kalahari highway.  Growth is expected for the town, due to the development of the T3 Motheo Copper-Silver Project on the Kalahari Copper Belt.
